Training

Well Beth has been amazing the last 4 weeks and I have been working and training like normal.  After a few days at home with Cameron at the beginning of the month, my schedule went back to normal a lot quicker then I expected.

From the 4th to the 12th I focused on endurance and climbing with 6 big rides over the 9 day period.  It was our hottest week of the year and it took a lot of work to stay hydrated, but overall the week plus 2 days went great.  25 hours, 33,000ft climbed.

After that was a few days of rest.  My rest days are still busy, but fun hanging out with Cameron in the evenings.

From the 18th to the 26th I did my next training block with a little less time and a little more intensity.  18.5 hours, 19,000ft, 5.5 hours of that on the last day.  It was great racing and seeing everyone at Over the Hump last Tuesday and my Sunday endurance ride was a solid 100mi on the road bike drinking what may have been a record 9 bottles along the way.

Next up are 2 easier weeks with only a couple hard rides as the Racers and Chasers Freedom 100mi and Marathon National Championships are coming up quick.

It hasn't been easy, but God has been really good to me and the riding is going well and family time even better!
